PERFORMANCE BOND
PROCEDURES
Initiated February 1, 1986
The following are the
procedures for payment / forfeiture of $25 Performance Bond
PAYMENT:
1.
Payment is due each season by April 1st. Payments received between April 2nd
and May 15th are assessed an additional $5.00. Payments not received by May 15th,
Umpire will be refunded current dues less National Registration fee and he/she
will be dropped from the Organization
2.
Payment may also be made by rolling over (End of
November each year) your $25.00 Performance Bond for the next season. If balance is less than $25.00, you must put
up the difference to roll over.
3. All balances less than $25.00 (End of November) or Umpires not wishing to roll over their Performance Bond will be refunded said amount.
FORFEITURE:
A $5.00
forfeiture will be incurred for each of the following. Also, at any time the Treasurer may be
contacted to inquire into your balance or any forfeitures
levied against your bond.
CANCELLATIONS: Umpires
will be allowed three (3) cancellations without penalty. These are cancellations after you have
received your weekly schedule. X-Outs on your calendar or saying you can not do a game when called by the Umpire-in-Chief do not
constitute a cancellation. For each
cancellation beyond the three (3), you will forfeit $5.00 of your Performance
Bond. Umpire must get a control number
from the Umpire-in-Chief for each cancellation.
Failure to get a control number will result in the Uumpire
being liable for partners game fee if game is done
alone. An Umpire may appeal any assessed
cancellation fee to the Executive Board in writing due to mitigating
circumstances.
MISSED
MEETINGS: Umpires forfeit a $5.00 fee from their
Performance Bond on the third consecutive meeting missed. Exceptions will be those Umpires working late
games and those who are excused by the President, Secretary, or Vice President
prior to each meeting. Umpires who have
X-Out a meeting date will be automatically excused, but should make an attempt
to make meetings.
OUT
OF UNIFORM: The Executive Board will review reports of Umpires
working out of uniform and assess a $5.00 fee from the Performance Bond for
valid cases.
SWITCHING
GAMES: Umpires will be assessed a $5.00 fee from their
Performance Bond for each time they switch an assignment without first
notifying the Umpire-in-Chief.
Exceptions will be heard by the Executive Board upon proper appeal.
EXECUTIVE
BOARD ACTION: The Executive Board will review any reported cases of
actions by Umpires considered detrimental to CNY Umpires Association. Each valid case will carry a $5.00 fee from
the Performance Bond.
UMPIRE-IN-CHIEF
ASSESMENTS NOT PAID: Umpires not paying their UIC Assessment within two ( 2 ) weeks of receipt of billing will forfeit $5.00 from
their Performance Bond. Only exceptions
will those which are approved by the UIC.
BOND
REPLENISHMENT: If at any time during the season an Umpire’s
Performance Bond balance reaches zero they will be notified by the Treasurer. They will then have one ( 1
) week to put up another $25.00 or be placed on inactive status until the fee
is paid.
