The Central New York Softball Umpires Association has been officiating in Onondaga County and Central New York since 1932. We have been affiliated nationally with USSSA since 1976. Originally USSSA was known as the United States Slow Pitch Softball Association. Currently USSSA is known as the United States Specialty Sports Association, offering Local, State and National competition levels in numerous sports.  CNY Umpires currently offer sanctioned leagues in several sports. Our current membership stands at 90 Officials.  Currently 65 % of our members have 10 plus years of experience with approximately 25 % having 20 plus years.  We are governed by 5 Officers and an Executive Board of 15 members.  We hold meetings twice a month during the season to keep our members informed of news, issues and rules interpretation. The Central New York Softball Umpires Association each year hosts various Local, State and National Tournaments.  In addition we lend our services to various Charitable events. We continue, with the guidance of USSSA monitor the trends of softball equipment to ensure the safety of those playing the sport.
